No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference. ~ Tommy Lasorda

Registration is now open for the spring 2010 season for T-Ball and all ages of baseball and fastpitch softball.
Forms are at the North Kitsap Schools, at The Zone and at The Sport Haus for you to pick up if needed. We encourage you to register online here. You can also register at the NKLL Clubhouse on January 30th from noon until 3:00 pm or by mailing a registration form to: PO Box 1476, Poulsbo, WA 98370. 5 year olds are eligible to play T Ball, 5th birthday must be on or before April 30th 2010.
You registered on the Main NKLL.com site and then had to do it again to register your player. The two didn't look at all the same and what worked for one didn't necessarily work for the other.
What a nuisance huh? The challenge is that we are using two systems and they both require user identifications and passwords. We are working on developing a way to integrate the two so that you can have a single login for the whole site. That unfortunately is a ways out right now.
Here is what is going on. The main NKLL site includes the ability to create users with varying access levels for website management and access to articles, to download documents, or to post messages in the bulletin board system. We are also making use of a service called Manage Your League (MYL). This service is what we used for the online registration of the players, the team assignments, broadcast emails, and game scheduling. Part of MYL is the team page system. There are some really neat features that we can make use of. In order for the MYL side to be secure it needs a user identification system too. Since this is a different piece of software it requires its own user login system. At this point the two systems are not interconnected for the user login.
The Team section has a feature that managers may find useful. There is a statistics module that will track the players individual statistics. This article will give you a short primer on how to enter the data and what the different items are.
North Kitsap Little League recently received permission to expand its southern border. This will give us the ability to offer the Little League program in areas of Kitsap County that have never had a Little League program. In the future, if there is enough interest in the new areas this added area may become a league of its own.
So what was added you ask? The southern boundary of North Kitsap National now extends down Dyes Inlet, around Manette and back to Keyport thus picking up the east side of Silverdale, Tracyton, and East Bremerton. The area west of Dyes Inlet is within the boundary of West Central Little League.
The new area offers new options for those families living in these communittees. In particular, we are hoping to fill a void in the 16 to 18 year old baseball age bracket. This is our Big League program which has been quite successful and is the division that District Two is hosting the Western Regional tournament for this July.
Great coaching is no accident. It starts with a love for the game. It grows from a strong desire to give children the tools they need to succeed on the field and in life. And it can happen in any league, with any team, anywhere in the world.
